A Clifton Park store manager has been arrested for using a customer's credit card to make unauthorized purchases, the Saratoga County Sheriff's office said today.
Thirty-two-year-old Christopher Spaulding, a manager at the New York Toy and Hobby store at Clifton Park Center Mall, is accused of obtaining a customer's credit card number while she was making purchases on Feb. 24th and Feb. 28th, then using the number to charge more transactions at the store.
Spaulding also removed the unauthorized credit card receipts, said police. He then made a false report to the Sheriff's Office on Feb. 26th regarding the unauthorized charges.
Spaulding has been charged with felony first-degree identity theft, felony first-degree falsifying business records and misdemeanor third-degree falsely reporting an incident.
Spaulding was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the county jail on $2,500 cash bail.
